AI Video R&D Specialist (Cinematic & ComfyUI)

🔹 About the Client & Project On behalf of our client - an innovative and fast-growing tech company operating in the AI Companionship sector - we are looking for an experienced AI Video R&D Specialist. Our client is an organization with a powerful R&D backbone that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in generative AI. The offered role is deeply embedded in the Research & Development (R&D) department. This is a highly technical, pipeline-building, and creative position - not a standard video editing job. We expect high autonomy in technical decision-making, researching new models, and project execution. ⚠️ Important Project Context: Our client operates in the AI companionship space. Please keep in mind that this role involves working directly with adult narratives and uncensored models. Therefore, being fully comfortable with explicit NSFW content is required for this position. 🔹 The Role: Full Ownership & Iteration Culture As an AI Video R&D Specialist, you will be given end-to-end production ownership - from researching the latest AI tools and building node workflows, to prompting, generation, compositing, and final delivery. We embrace an iteration culture: test, fail, refine, improve, and share learnings with the team. You must have a high appetite for experimentation, prototyping, and startup grit. Your core responsibilities will include: • R&D & ComfyUI Workflow Engineering (35% focus): Researching, building, and optimising complex node-based workflows in ComfyUI. Staying ahead of the curve with new models and extensions. Using AI for character consistency, B-roll generation, style control, and post-processing. • Narrative Storytelling & Visual Craft (30% focus): Creating narrative-driven long-form content from concept. Maintaining character and scene consistency across longer AI-generated sequences. Applying strong cinematic language: pacing, composition, atmosphere, and visual coherence. • Technical Autonomy & Post-Production (20% focus): Full independence across the entire production stack. Managing compositing, colour correction, motion graphics, and final export. Managing own render queues and file structures for high-volume iteration. • Collaboration & Startup Grit (15% focus): Sharing techniques and learnings with the team. Taking ideas from concept to final delivery independently. Navigating ambiguity, fast iteration, and killing ego-work without hesitation if the output isn't right. 🔹 Must Haves (Non-Negotiables) • Experience: Mid/Senior level only. 4+ years in video production, VFX, technical art, or R&D environments. • ComfyUI Mastery: This is strictly mandatory. You must have proven experience building and managing complex node-based workflows, as this is the absolute foundation of our daily operations. • NSFW Comfort: 100% comfortable with explicit adult content. • AI-Driven Portfolio: You must include AI-driven video work in your application to showcase your generative capabilities. (Please note: traditional-only cinematic portfolios will not be a match for this specific role). • AI Fluency: Active, professional use of generative AI tools (Stable Diffusion, Runway, Kling, Pika, Seedance, etc.) and a drive to test new solutions daily. • Language: Fluent English (both written and spoken). 🔹 Tech Stack Mandatory: • ComfyUI (Node-based workflow building & optimization) Essential: • Stable Diffusion / AUTOMATIC1111 (Advanced prompting, LoRAs, refining, upscaling, inpainting) • Premiere Pro, After Effects (or equivalent for final assembly and polish) Active AI Video Tools: • Kling, Seedance, Happy Horse, Runway, Pika (and emerging equivalents) 🔹 Nice to Have (Calibration Anchors) • Background in AI-native video studios, generative content agencies, or AI filmmaking R&D projects. • Experience in VFX houses or post-production studios that have moved into generative AI workflows. • Adult content production experience with AI-integrated pipelines (strong bonus). • 3D or VFX background, colorist experience. • Hands-on experience with model training (LoRAs, embeddings, fine-tuning). • Strong Python skills for custom node creation or automation.
