At Jacobs we're embarking on an exciting journey as we initiate the development of our Digital & Data Hub in the heart of Krakow. Our mission is to undertake projects spanning various industries, including Consumer and Manufacturing, Defence and Security, Energy and Utilities, Financial Services, Government and Public Services, Health and Life Sciences, and Transport. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior AI Engineer to play a key role in enabling scalable, cloud-native AI and machine learning platforms. In this role, you will design, build, and optimise modern data architectures, integrate largescale datasets, and deliver reliable, highperformance data pipelines that power advanced analytics, GenAI, and ML solutions across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain scalable data solutions for large-scale data processing and analytics using modern cloud data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow) • Design, develop, and operate data platforms built on Snowflake, supporting analytical, AI, ML, and GenAI workloads • Build and maintain robust, automated data pipelines for batch and real-time processing across cloud environments • Design and optimise cloud-based data architectures enabling AI-driven products and advanced analytics • Integrate and manage large, complex datasets from multiple internal and external sources, ensuring high performance, reliability, and accessibility • Implement and manage ETL / ELT workflows using cloud-native services (e.g. AWS Glue, Lambda, Airflow or equivalents) • Collaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and solution architects to ensure data platforms fully support model development and production requirements • Enable advanced GenAI use cases, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), agent-based workflows, and vector-based search solutions • Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot data pipelines and platforms to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency • Design and develop LLM-based agent solutions and agentic workflows • Integrate LLM agents with APIs, tools, and data pipelines • Test, validate, and continuously improve agent behaviours, system performance, and output quality • Contribute to the evolution of data engineering and AI platform best practices, tooling, and standards Here's what you'll need: • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, AI engineering, or related roles, with a strong focus on cloud-based platforms • Hands-on, production-level experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance optimisation, ELT patterns, and integration with analytics and AI workloads • Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, or similar programming languages • Solid experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and modern lakehouse or hybrid data architectures • Good understanding of machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch) and how they interact with data platforms • Practical knowledge of RAG architectures, LLM-powered systems, and agent-based solutions • Experience working with vector databases, embeddings, indexing strategies, and reranking techniques to improve LLM output quality • Ability to leverage cloud AI and ML services (e.g. SageMaker or equivalent platforms) • Experience deploying, monitoring, and operating data and ML workloads at scale in cloud environments • Strong understanding of core cloud services: compute, object storage, databases, networking, monitoring, and logging • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset • Nice to have: • Experience with advanced data indexing strategies and GenAI enablement technologies • Familiarity with multiple cloud providers or hybrid cloud architectures • Experience working in consulting, product-driven, or multi-project environments We offer: • Rewarding employment - full-time employment/b2b contract with a salary that matches your qualifications • Hybrid work model - enjoy the flexibility of working mainly from home • Flexible hours - start your day anytime between 7:30 and 10:00 AM • Comprehensive benefits, including Lux Med medical care, psychological support, life insurance, My Benefit cafeteria system, Multisport card co-financing, and a car/bike park sharing system (only under CoE) • Possibility to travel on an occasional basis • Co-financed holidays - enjoy "Wczasy pod Gruszą" for a well-deserved break • Global projects - engage in exciting international projects (only under CoE) • Inclusive networks - join our diverse employee networks like Women's Network, OneWorld, PRISM, Careers Network, Green Team, SpeakUp, Collectively, and more • Continuous learning - participate in our Graduate Development Program, Learners’ Community, and self-learning platforms • Language courses - enhance your skills with courses in English, German, and Polish We know that if we are inclusive, we’re more connected, and we’re more creative.
