About Our Client On behalf of our client -a pioneering, rapidly growing deep-tech scale-up working at the intersection of Physical AI and advanced machine learning - we are looking for a Senior Perception & Data Engineer. Our client designs and deploys autonomous fleets of intelligent edge hardware powered by large-scale vision, language, and control models. Their world-class engineering team consists of elite software architects, hardware specialists, and ML researchers with experience from leading global technology companies and top-tier academic institutions. To fuel the training of their next-generation foundational models, they are establishing a brand-new team dedicated to real-world data collection, quality, and systems engineering. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-impact, greenfield project as its first dedicated engineer. The Role This is not a typical, siloed cloud data engineering job. You will own the entire lifecycle of physical-world data - from the camera lens on the edge device to the cloud bucket. Our client is looking for a versatile generalist (a "Swiss Army Knife" engineer) who is comfortable writing robust Python code, designing cloud pipelines, and occasionally troubleshooting physical sensor connections. Key responsibilities will include: • Vision & Hardware Integration: Work directly with physical camera systems and depth sensors. Configure, debug, and optimize parameters such as exposure, gain, and camera intrinsics/extrinsics. • Sensor Connectivity: Integrate and test diverse sensors using various interfaces (Ethernet, USB, etc.), troubleshooting connectivity and bandwidth issues on edge devices. • Pipeline Ownership & GCP: Design and maintain robust data pipelines (ETL) to stream high-volume data from edge computers in industrial environments to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for foundational model training. • Data Quality & Synchronization: Build programmatic filters to detect and discard corrupted, blurry, or low-quality data. Ensure precise, millisecond-level synchronization between visual frames and device telemetry. • On-site Deployments & Context: Understand the operational and business context of the physical hardware deployments. Work closely with actual systems in the field to ensure data acquisition setups are reliable, self-calibrating, and easy to maintain. What We Are Looking For: We need a versatile engineer who enjoys solving tricky hardware-software integration puzzles and takes true ownership of their work. • Core Skills: Proficiency in Python and software engineering best practices. • Vision Systems Experience: Hands-on experience with vision systems, specifically depth and 3D cameras (e.g., Intel RealSense, Zivid, Luxonis, Basler, Lucid). You understand the physics of cameras (calibration, optics, lighting parameters). • Data Engineering Foundations: Practical experience with data streaming, ETL pipelines, and cloud storage (ideally within GCP). • Cross-functional Profile: You are part software developer, part hardware enthusiast. You enjoy deploying things in the physical world and seeing them run. • Problem-Solving & Context: You don't just wait for tickets. You understand the business context, communicate proactively across teams, and find ways to improve data quality for research. Nice-to-Have: • Background in student engineering projects (e.g., autonomous vehicles, aerospace systems, electric cars, or advanced IoT projects). • Experience in early-stage startups or scale-ups where you had to wear multiple hats and adapt to fast iterations. What Is Offered • Monthly salary of 25 000 - 32 000 PLN gross (UoP) • 70% KUP (tax deduction for creative work), significantly increasing your net take-home pay • Pre-IPO Stock Options (ESOP) – a real share in the long-term success of a private, high-growth scale-up before any future liquidity events • True flexibility in working hours and a highly trusting work culture • Hybrid work model: work mostly from home, with the requirement to visit the Warsaw office only once every few weeks for hardware testing, camera calibration, and team collaboration • Modern office space with fully equipped testing areas and real edge hardware to experiment with
