Our diverse, vibrant, and welcoming community is essential in driving our success. Introduction to team: The Traveler Business Team builds and drives growth for our global consumer businesses—Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo. This division creates compelling and differentiated traveler value for each brand by setting the strategic vision, operating strategy, and plan. Responsibilities include investment allocation and prioritization, P&L accountability, and leading cross-functional teams across Expedia Group, who are all held accountable to a single scorecard. Are you passionate about data, analytics and predictive modelling? Do you want to be at the forefront of a truly customer-centric organization. We are looking for a hardworking and intelligent individual to fill the Data Scientist III (Individual Contributor) role in the Planning and Insights Analytics team. You will provide powerful analyses and insights and develop business forecast models, capital allocation and strategic planning across Expedia Group brands. This is an exciting opportunity for a team-player who wants to be a central part of a truly customer focused team and a growing analytics function! You will own the relationship with our stakeholders and help drive the expansion of forecast applications, spend allocation and scenario planning across the B2C organization. You will also have opportunities to research and develop new modelling techniques that incorporate business drivers as required. The successful individual will be able to work with minimal instruction and oversight, enjoy working on multiple tasks and projects at the same time and own projects end to end. Critical to your success in this role is a love of data (we love data!) - developing insightful analysis that you communicate in a clear and compelling way. In this role, you will: - Apply advanced analytical techniques, statistical knowledge, machine learning, and big data handling skills to support our commercial stakeholders’ decision-making - Use your creativity and commercial acumen to translate business problems into structured analytical questions, and choose the most appropriate methodologies to answer these questions - Own the relationships with our Marketing stakeholders, and work autonomously to prioritise and execute on the most impactful analytics projects - Influence partners and senior leaders through communicating across various levels of the organization using clear and compelling storytelling and presentations - Prioritise multiple tasks and workstreams simultaneously and own projects end to end
