Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Important Note This role requires regular overlap with the New York (NY) time zone. Working hours are expected to extend up to 9:00 PM local time. The Role We are hiring a full-time Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology vision, delivery, security, and engineering operations from start to finish. The CTO will join a platform that already has: • active customers who generate revenue • a modern system architecture • improving security standards, including a successful SOC 2 audit • ongoing product development for the main platform and new features This CTO will be a hands-on leader who can turn business and product goals into secure, reliable, and scalable technology. They will also build and manage strong teams across different countries. Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy and Architecture • Own our technology roadmap, architecture, and long-term technical vision • Make sure the platform can grow securely across customers, projects, and devices • Lead important architecture decisions for cloud systems, integrations, data models, and access control • Balance innovation with stable daily operations in a safety-critical environment Engineering and Delivery Leadership • Lead and grow our engineering, QA, technical operations, and architecture teams • Work closely with Product, Operations, and Customer teams to match delivery with real job-site needs • Improve software development processes, release management, and quality standards • Ensure reliable delivery without reducing security or system stability Security, Compliance, and Risk • Own our security and compliance standards, including SOC 2, customer security reviews, and internal security processes • Maintain and improve policies for access control, data ownership, encryption, and audit tracking • Work with leadership, legal teams, and external auditors on compliance and risk management Infrastructure and Reliability • Own cloud infrastructure, system uptime, monitoring, and disaster recovery • Ensure high availability for customers working on live construction sites • Improve incident management, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement • Take technical responsibility for our turnstiles, open portals, and handheld devices used in the field Leadership and Collaboration • Be a key member of the executive leadership team • Work closely with the CEO, CPO, CSO, and other leaders on company strategy • Present our technology vision clearly to customers, partners, and auditors • Build a strong engineering culture based on accountability, practical thinking, and continuous learning Ideal Background • 15+ years of experience in software engineering and technical leadership • Previous experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or senior technical leader in a SaaS company • Strong knowledge of cloud-based systems, modern APIs, and secure architecture • Strong experience with modern web and mobile technologies, preferably React, React Native, and .NET • Hands-on experience with security, compliance, and audits • Experience leading teams across different countries • Comfortable working in regulated and operationally important environments • Able to move easily between strategy, architecture, and daily execution Leadership Style We Value • Practical, calm, and confident • Comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility • Focused on security without blocking innovation • Understands the needs of operations, customers, and frontline users • Builds trust with engineers, colleagues, and senior leaders
