Database Operations Engineer

Nasze wymagania: Expert-level multi-platform DB administration – MS SQL, MySQL, Progress, MongoDB, Oracle, DB2 (administration, backup, patching, recovery). Includes both relational and NoSQL platforms. Advanced performance tuning & HA/DR – Execution plans, indexing, wait events, AWR/ASH, engine metrics. Deep understanding of HA/DR architectures: AlwaysOn, Data Guard, log shipping, replication, clustering. Security, encryption & compliance – TLS, TDE, certificates, secure drivers, auditing, data masking, privilege management, license compliance (vendor-specific entitlement rules), audit remediation. Migration, capacity, observability & recovery – Capacity planning, data growth modeling, migration (on-premcloud), cloud DB services (Azure/GCP/AWS), observability/telemetry expertise for performance monitoring and alerting, backup technologies (snapshot-based recovery, cross-site failover). Scripting, leadership & people management – PowerShell/Python/Bash automation, mentoring L2 analysts, managing on-call rotas, vendor escalation, people management for leading DB admin L2 analysts, coordination with storage and infrastructure teams, governance and service review participation. We are seeking an experienced Database Operations Engineers to manage, optimize, and protect enterprise database platforms spanning relational (SQL) and NoSQL environments. You will ensure high availability, integrity, performance, and security of structured and unstructured data supporting critical business applications, while providing technical leadership to L2 Database Analysts. Zakres obowiązków: Lead Enterprise Database Management & Performance Optimization Oversee the deployment, configuration, patching, version upgrades, and lifecycle management of enterprise database platforms (MS SQL, MySQL, Progress, MongoDB, Oracle, DB2). Drive performance tuning initiatives including execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, query optimization, wait event analysis (AWR/ASH), and resolution of resource bottlenecks to ensure high availability and operational excellence. Own DR, Security, Incident Response & Decommissioning Lead advanced backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures with validated restore plans, including snapshot-based recovery and cross-site failover. Ensure data integrity, encryption (TLS, TDE), data masking, secure connectivity, and compliance with regulatory and security standards. Take ownership of incident response for database outages and performance degradations, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with application, infrastructure, storage, and cloud teams for seamless data availability. Oversee secure decommissioning of end-of-life database hardware and data sanitization processes. Provide Technical Leadership, Governance & Drive Automation Mentor and guide L2 Database Analysts, organize on-call rotas, and manage vendor escalations. Lead database migration and consolidation activities (on-prem → cloud or cross-platform). Develop scripting automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for routine database operations, capacity planning, and health reviews. Support audit remediation, license compliance (vendor-specific entitlement rules), and business continuity planning including DR test execution. Participate in governance, reporting, service reviews, and operational improvement initiatives. Maintain documentation of database architectures, operational procedures, and support models.
