Opis stanowiska
We're looking for an Engineering Lead to join a large-scale Digital Health initiative focused on building a FHIR-based healthcare platform that connects providers, payers, clinical systems, and external healthcare networks.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine technical excellence with team leadership. You'll drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and HIPAA-compliant healthcare solutions.
You'll be working on a platform that aggregates and standardizes medical data from multiple clinical and administrative sources, including:
• Lab results
• Diagnoses
• Medications
• Patient visits
• Claims and insurance data
The platform transforms healthcare data into FHIR standards and exposes it through secure APIs consumed by internal products and external partners.
Our technology stack includes:
• Python and/or Node.js / TypeScript
• Kafka and event-driven architecture
• AWS / Azure
• Docker & Kubernetes
• AI-assisted engineering practices
What you'll do
• Lead engineering efforts across healthcare interoperability and data platform initiatives
• Define technical direction and architecture decisions
• Build and evolve secure, scalable, high-availability systems
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical coaching
• Collaborate directly with US-based stakeholders
• Drive engineering excellence, reliability, security, and observability practices
• Promote responsible use of AI-assisted development in regulated healthcare environments
Must have
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years as a Tech Lead / Engineering Lead
• Experience in Healthcare, HealthTech, or Digital Health
• Strong knowledge of FHIR R4
• Experience with HL7 / US Core / USCDI
• Hands-on work with HIPAA and PHI-safe engineering practices
• Strong expertise in Python and/or Node.js / TypeScript
• Experience designing distributed, high-scale systems
• APIs, data platforms, and event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and JWT
• Strong SQL and NoSQL skills
• AWS or Azure experience
• Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Proven track record of leading engineers and driving technical decisions
• Practical experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar
• English level B2+
Nice to have
• FHIR Server (R4/R4B), Bulk FHIR, SMART on FHIR
• HL7 v2, C-CDA, C-CDA-to-FHIR transformations
• Knowledge of SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, ICD-10, and CPT
• Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, or other lakehouse platforms
• Master Patient Index (MPI), patient matching, or record linkage
• EHR/EMR integrations
• Experience with HIE, pharmacy, laboratory, or payer integrations
• CARIN Blue Button and Da Vinci standards
• Knowledge of 21st Century Cures Act, ONC Certification, and CMS Interoperability Rule
• Experience building LLM-based solutions for clinical data processing or data quality
• Contributions to open-source healthcare or FHIR/HL7 communities
Why join us?
You'll lead engineering for a platform that directly impacts how healthcare data is integrated, standardized, and delivered to patients, providers, and healthcare organizations.
This role offers a unique combination of:
• Technical leadership
• Modern cloud-native architecture
• Healthcare interoperability standards
• AI-native engineering
• Real business impact in a highly regulated domain
If you're passionate about engineering excellence and ready to solve complex healthcare challenges at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
