We’re looking for a Powertrain Component Owner who will take end‑to‑end responsibility for ride‑by‑wire powertrain components in our next-generation E‑Bike platform. If you enjoy combining system thinking, hands-on engineering, and close collaboration with suppliers - this role is for you. This opportunity is ideal for engineers who value independence, ownership, and flexibility. Please note that this is a freelance position. The engagement begins with a B2B contract through Spyrosoft, with the potential to transition to a direct contract with our Partner at a later stage. Requirements: Must-have qualifications • Experience in powertrain or mechatronic component development (e.g. motors, inverters, batteries, actuators, sensors). • Familiarity with automotive or e‑mobility development processes (e.g. V‑model, ASPICE-like processes, structured requirement management). • Proven experience working with external suppliers (technical alignment, reviews, follow-up). • Knowledge of functional safety principles (e.g. ISO 26262 or similar functional safety concepts). • Strong technical documentation skills - ability to create clear specifications and component documentation. • Fluent English, both written and spoken, for daily communication with international stakeholders and suppliers. Nice to have • Experience with E‑Bike systems or other light electric vehicles. • Familiarity with ride‑by‑wire or drive‑by‑wire systems. • Background in systems engineering, model-based development, or requirements engineering tools. • Experience with testing and validation of powertrain or mechatronic components. In this role, you will: • Develop and own powertrain components for our E‑Bike platform, including:• Drive motor • Pedal generator • Battery system • Define component‑level requirements in close collaboration with the systems engineering team. • Coordinate and monitor development with external suppliers to ensure timing, quality, and technical alignment. • Prepare and maintain component‑level technical documentation, including specifications, interface descriptions, and test criteria. • Support system and vehicle integration, working with test and validation teams to ensure proper operation and performance. • Ensure compliance with functional safety requirements, in line with relevant standards and internal processes. • Contribute to closing gaps in E‑Bike Product Development, bringing structure, clarity, and ownership to the powertrain domain.
