We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect for our client to join a high-profile technology programme focused on designing secure, scalable, and cloud-native enterprise solutions.
In this role, you will work closely with senior architects and engineering teams, translating business and programme requirements into robust technical architectures while ensuring alignment with governance, security, and delivery standards.
Your Responsibilities
• Own logical and physical solution designs for assigned workstreams or technical domains.
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), Interface Control Documents (ICD), and Architecture Decision Records (ADR).
• Participate in architecture reviews, governance boards, and technical design sessions, presenting design options and trade-off analyses.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure architectural designs are implemented correctly and consistently.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and architectural constraints across multiple workstreams.
• Define and validate non-functional requirements, including performance, availability, scalability, and security.
• Work with external technology partners and integration teams to define interfaces and technical requirements.
• Contribute to the evolution of the programme's reference architecture and architectural best practices.
Must-Have Skills
• 7–12 years of experience in Solution Architecture or Enterprise Architecture within large-scale technology programmes.
• Experience delivering solutions in complex enterprise or highly regulated environments.
• Strong cloud architecture experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on knowledge of:• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
• Kubernetes or OpenShift
• Cloud networking fundamentals
• Experience with modern integration patterns:
• REST APIs
• OpenAPI 3.x
• AsyncAPI
• Event-driven architectures
• Service mesh concepts
• Strong architecture documentation skills (HLD, LLD, ICD, ADR).
• Understanding of secure-by-design principles, including:
• Identity & Access Management (IAM)
• Network segmentation
• Data classification
• Security best practices
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar.
Nice to Have
• Experience working on defence, government, or national security programmes.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as MoDAF, NAF, or DoDAF.
• Experience with API Management platforms (Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure APIM, MuleSoft).
• Familiarity with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or Elastic APM.
• Experience with large-scale cloud transformation initiatives.
• Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP Solutions Architect).
• TOGAF Foundation or Practitioner certification.
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
• Confidence presenting architecture decisions and managing technical discussions.
