Backend Developer - Java

Opening We are seeking a mid-level backend engineer to join the Monaco squad in the Activation, Retention, and Conversion Studio (ARC Studio). This role involves building and maintaining subscription selection and rules engine infrastructure. Ideal candidates will share our curiosity for scalable distributed systems and continuous development, collaborating closely with engineers, managers, and product teams to enhance our conversion capabilities. What You'll Do - Collaborate with the squad and key partners to design scalable backend systems, data models, and APIs on Google Cloud Platform. - Develop and operate Java services that support marketing operations and internal squads. - Work closely with senior engineers and execute against the squad vision. - Contribute to an autonomous, cross-functional agile squad, collaborating with other teams. - Identify and address challenging problems to enhance user-focused conversion experiences. Who You Are - 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer with a focus on Java. - Familiarity with gRPC, GCP, BigQuery, and Bigtable is a plus. - Strong foundation in computer science and experience building scalable backend services. - Expertise in cloud-native software components across various providers (GCP, AWS). - Proficient in documenting and developing APIs to meet stakeholder requirements. - Comfortable working both collaboratively and independently on complex projects. - Experience in deploying and maintaining distributed, high-volume services. - Passionate about work and committed to team and organizational goals.
