Overview
The consultant will work as a Senior/Expert IT Developer in IMSecurities, developing and modernising backend integration components around the Safekeeping and Corporate Actions platform. The work includes designing, developing, testing, deploying and supporting Java-based microservices and integration components connecting IMSecurities with other systems. The application is undergoing intensive development due to a significant increase in scope and reach (migration of business flows & volumes over 2027-2029), which often requires rewriting and rearchitecting parts of the code base. The department is ramping up, particularly with developers, including this requisition.
Main Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Java-based microservices.
• Modernise backend integration components around Safekeeping and Corporate Actions.
• Conduct requirement analysis and prepare related documentation.
• Work hands-on with development and step into analysis and deployment when needed.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support deployment planning.
• Participate in Scrum team activities and knowledge sharing protocols.
• Contribute to the growth of employee developers through mentorship.
Key Requirements
• Strong Java backend development experience from large-scale enterprise environments (min. 5 years for Senior, 10 years for Expert).
• Proficient in Spring Boot and Spring Integration.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle.
• Familiarity with messaging and event-driven integration, preferably IBM MQ and Kafka.
• Expertise in REST services, microservices, and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of Maven, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Automated testing experience with JUnit and Testcontainers.
• Ability to analyse requirements, system and data flows, logs, and production issues.
• Fluent in English.
Nice to Have
• Experience from banking or trading environments.
• Cloud-ready application design.
• Experience modernising integration custody, settlement, corporate actions, or another regulated domain.
• Familiarity with containerisation and layers around vendor platforms.
• Practical experience with test automation and AI-assisted development tools.
