Softeq is looking for an experienced Embedded Linux System Architect to design a secure and reliable firmware update and deployment architecture for the hardware ecosystem based on embedded Linux. The role includes defining the overall firmware build, update, and deployment workflow with a strong focus on security, reliability, and maintainability. Location: • Vilnius, Lithuania (employment or B2B contract, hybrid/remote work) • Warsaw, Poland (B2B contract, fully remote) Key Responsibilities: • Design a secure firmware update architecture for embedded Linux systems, including mechanisms for signed firmware, secure boot compatibility, and trusted update delivery • Define strategies for safe system updates, including rollback, atomic updates, and recovery mechanisms • Design the end-to-end deployment and device update workflow, from build artifacts to installation on target devices • Ensure the update process is robust, reproducible, and scalable for production device fleets • Prepare technical specifications and architecture documentation • Define the required toolchain, infrastructure, and engineering tasks for implementation Key Expertise: • We are specifically looking for a senior architect-level engineer with deep experience in: • Embedded Linux system architecture • Firmware update frameworks and OTA mechanisms • Secure boot and signed firmware updates • Large-scale device update and deployment strategies Softeq communicates only from @softeq.com email addresses.
