Internship - Fullstack Software Engineer (Java & JavaScript)

About the position We are seeking a Fullstack Software Engineer Intern to join our team for an internal project. The main mission of the internship will be to help revive and improve an existing application while following our internal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards and best practices. The intern will work with both JavaScript and Java, contributing to frontend and backend development. At the same time, this role has an important learning and feedback aspect: by working on a real, living system, you will help us verify whether our development procedures, documentation, and guidelines are clear, usable, and effective in practice. This role is ideal for a young, motivated fullstack developer who wants to learn how software should be built “by the book” — where processes are meant to guide and support engineers, not require expert-level project management skills to understand. Key Responsibilities • Contribute to frontend and backend development using JavaScript and Java • Help restore, improve, and extend the existing application • Follow internal SDLC guidelines, development procedures, and documentation • Provide feedback on the clarity and usability of development processes and documentation • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand best practices and architectural decisions • Assist in debugging, fixing issues, and improving code quality • Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions • Help identify gaps or unclear areas in development procedures and suggest improvements Requirements: • Being enrolled in a Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field • Good English communication skills (B2+), Polish language is a plus • Basic knowledge of JavaScript (frontend or backend) • Basic knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming • Basic understanding of web application architecture (frontend, backend, APIs) • Familiarity with Git and version control systems • Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts • Willingness to follow defined processes, guidelines, and documentation • Analytical mindset and attention to detail • Curiosity and willingness to ask questions and learn • Independence and drive to grow as a software engineer • Any academic, personal, or internship experience with fullstack development is considered an asset • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus *As an intern, you’re not expected to be an expert.
