With millions of monthly users, we’re expanding our Budapest tech team to support ongoing growth, innovation, and platform scaling, which means developing further our existing platforms and creating new, green-field e-commerce platforms as well. Role Overview We’re looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer with deep experience in Laravel (PHP) or in a similar backend technology to join our core platform team. You’ll work on high-performance, production-grade systems, directly supporting e-commerce features such as checkout, payments, product catalogues, and customer account flows. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-traffic environments, has a strong grasp of back-end architecture and optimisation, takes pride in clean, testable code, and is not afraid to try out new technologies. Our team is relatively small and new, therefore you’ll have a huge impact on the way of work and team’s culture, while you will also provide a lot of impact to the products we’re developing. Therefore, we’re looking for someone who likes to take on big ownership and responsibility. Working Hours and Location - Full-time (40 hours/week).- Based in Budapest with a hybrid working model. Wymagania: Must-Have Skills - Proven experience building scalable back-end systems with PHP (Laravel Framework) or using similar technologies.- Experience with e-commerce platforms and understanding of order, product, payment, and cart flows.- Ability to optimise and scale systems for high-traffic environments.- Solid understanding of unit testing, test-driven development, and legacy code refactoring.- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and diagnostics tools. Nice-to-Have Skills - Exposure to front-end frameworks such as Next.js or other React-based stacks.- Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda).- Experience modernising or re-architecting legacy systems for performance and maintainability.- Experience working with microservice architecture.- Experience with at least two backend frameworks. Codzienne zadania: - Build and maintain scalable, reliable APIs and back-end services. - Support complex e-commerce workflows such as checkout, payment, order, and product management. - Monitor system performance under load and apply appropriate caching, queue management, and concurrency strategies. - Maintain code quality through unit testing, refactoring, and maintainability improvements. - Use tools such as Laravel Horizon, Telescope, Debugbar, and external platforms like Sentry to diagnose and monitor production issues. - Be a partner in building additional capabilities for the product, like product analytics and marketing tooling.
