Senior Backend Developer (Crypto & Kubernetes Expertise) Location: Remote (Europe) Contract Type: B2B Rate: 190–200 PLN/h + VAT Project: Long-term international cooperation About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer, close to Architect level, to design and build core backend services for the ORA platform. The role focuses on enabling secure cloud integration with SEF using KMIP and Barbican, with strong emphasis on cryptography, Kubernetes infrastructure, and secure distributed systems. You will work on complex backend services that integrate with Key Management Systems (KMS) and modern cloud platforms while ensuring the highest security and reliability standards. This is an opportunity to work on advanced infrastructure-level services in a highly technical, international environment. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement core backend services for the ORA platform • Integrate systems with Key Management Services (KMS) using KMIP, Barbican, and related technologies • Develop and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure, including:• Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) • Operators • Controllers • Implement secure communication layers using TLS and advanced encryption techniques • Collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless platform integration • Implement unit and integration tests to maintain high code quality and system reliability • Contribute to technical architecture decisions and provide backend technical leadership Required Skills & Experience • Senior-level backend development experience in Java, Golang, or Python • Strong understanding of cryptography concepts (TLS, encryption, secure communication) • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including infrastructure and management layers • Experience working with OpenStack environments • Experience building and maintaining distributed backend systems • Strong experience with unit and integration testing • Ability to work on complex, low-level platform services • Fluent English (C1 or higher) Nice to Have • Experience with KMIP and secure key management systems • Familiarity with Barbican and secure key storage mechanisms • Experience with cloud convergence strategies and ORA architecture • Understanding of performance optimization and scalability in microservices environments • Experience working with open standards and open-source integrations What We Offer • 100% remote work from anywhere in Europe • Private medical care (Medicover) • Sports card (Multisport or equivalent) • Life insurance • Long-term, stable cooperation • Work on highly technical, security-focused cloud infrastructure projects • International project environment • Opportunity to work with modern cloud-native and cryptographic technologies
