By working with the Warsaw office, the service provider will help shape scalable, data-driven products used across markets, working with a modern tech stack and international teams to continuously improve how people discover, order, and enjoy HelloFresh’s products. About the Role: What's in the Box The position is part of the Consumer Alliance - Deliveries and Orders Squad, which has the mission to maximize retention of new and active customers by managing the complete order lifecycle. This squad is accountable for some of HelloFresh's most critical backend systems that process millions of orders globally. The service provider will work with backend event-driven systems assisting millions of customers globally in the journey from subscription activation through to the cutoff moment—when orders are finalized and handed off to fulfillment teams. The focus is on ensuring customers have the right deliveries scheduled with rich flexibility features and correct orders successfully created at a right time of user choosing. This role does not include people management responsibilities. What You’ll Do: The Recipe • Work on the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of microservices, using DevOps practices, extreme programming, and other methodologies utilizing modern AI workflows. • Be an active, highly-agent and solution-oriented member of autonomous, cross-functional agile teams. • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the core product and architecture, acting as an ambassador for software solutions and offering technical support and guidance to colleagues. • Work with state-of-the-art technologies like Golang, Kotlin, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and more. • Contribute to architectural decisions, providing technical insights to shape the overall direction of solution design. What You’ll Bring: The Ingredients • Strong background in backend development of highly-available event-driven (Kafka) distributed systems with rich integrations. • Meaningful experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as part of a regular workflow. This includes using AI agents as thought partners to navigate codebases and understanding how task framing affects result quality. • Proven ability to build architectures using messaging technologies such as Kafka and AWS SQS/SNS and expose data via future-proof REST API and gRPC interfaces. • Proficiency with Golang; a willingness to learn Kotlin is also welcome. • Practical knowledge of Docker, container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, and CI/CD implementation. • Deep understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL; knowledge of MongoDB and/or GraphQL is a plus. • Solid foundation in testing practices, including both unit and end-to-end testing.
