Senior Java Backend Engineer – Data Integration and ETL

As a Senior Java Backend Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the finance/technologies industry, dedicated to transforming data workflows and ensuring seamless system integration. Your main responsibilities: • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to design, build, and operate backend services for data integration and replication. • Develop, implement, and maintain robust ETL workflows and APIs to synchronize data between Atlassian platforms and systems. • Work closely with the engineering team to design and deliver new features, ensuring scalability and reliability. • Proactively engage with internal customers to troubleshoot issues, address feature requests, and provide operational support. • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance. • Contribute to an agile, CI/CD-driven environment, delivering frequent, high-quality releases. • Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and knowledge sharing within the team. • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. You're ideal for this role if you have: • At least 5 years of experience in Java (Spring Framework). • Proficiency in at least two or three of the following: API development, SQL/PostgreSQL database management, ETL workflows, React. • Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills. • Experience working in Agile environments, including the use of Jira and Confluence. • Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful service design. • Good interpersonal and communication skills. • English proficiency (B2+). It is a strong plus if you have: • Good working knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, and GCP. • Experience building out CI toolchains using Jenkins CI/CD. • A background in Systems Administration across Linux/AIX/WAS platforms.
