Senior Java Backend Engineer – Spring Boot, PostgreSQL & Azure

About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to join the team and develop scalable, reliable, cloud-native backend solutions. The role focuses on Java-based microservices, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft Azure technologies.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, database management, and deploying microservices on Kubernetes.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and scalable distributed systems.
• Work extensively with PostgreSQL in production environments, including Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Develop and maintain asynchronous integrations using Azure Service Bus and Apache Kafka.
• Apply event-driven architecture and distributed system patterns to ensure reliability and data consistency.
• Manage database schema changes and migrations using Liquibase, integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with Azure services, particularly Azure Monitor and Key Vault.
• Implement and maintain observability solutions, including logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Troubleshoot performance and operational issues across microservices, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Work comfortably in Linux-based environments and use scripting for automation.
Required Experience & Skills
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Extensive production experience with PostgreSQL.
• Practical experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server.
• Experience with AKS/Kubernetes and cloud-native application deployment.
• Production experience with Azure Service Bus and Kafka.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Liquibase and database migration strategies.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, monitoring, and security.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
