Senior Java Developer — Industrial Welding Data Platform
🚀 Who We're Looking For: A senior Java engineer who owns systems end to end, and who uses AI tooling like a professional instrument rather than a novelty.
🌍 Location: Fully Remote
💰 Salary: 25–28k PLN/month B2B (alternative contract options available)

What You'll Work On
An industrial welding data platform for a Nordic manufacturer of welding equipment, the system that collects quality data from welding machines on production lines and turns it into traceable, auditable proof of weld quality. It's a mature product with a real installed base, a substantial Java estate, and a long roadmap.
You'll join the product team as a full member: same routines, same planning, same ownership as the in-house engineers. This is not a ticket queue.
Concretely:
•
Extend and modernize the Java backend.Java, WildFly, Hibernate/JPA, Oracle and SQL Server, containerized, with the messaging and integration layers around it.
• Own features end to end, from design conversation through production behaviour.
• Set the standard for AI-assisted development. The team's embedded engineers are already well ahead on AI-enabled workflows; the Java side isn't there yet. You'll be the person who changes that: choosing the workflows, showing what actually works, and raising the bar for everyone who joins after you.
For the right person there is a clear path into a lead role as the team grows.
What We're Looking For
• Expert-level Java. Years of it, on systems that matter.
• Real depth in WildFly (or another JEE application server): you've operated one, not just deployed to it.
• Strong ORM work — Hibernate/JPA — including the parts that go wrong at scale.
• Production experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. Not just "SQL".
• Comfortable with containers, VMs and the infrastructure your code runs on. You don't hand things over the wall.
• Genuine fluency with AI coding tooling. Agents, spec-driven workflows, and, most importantly, the judgement to know when the model is confidently wrong. Our client standardizes on AWS Kiro across the organization; if you've been effective with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar, that transfers directly. We care about how you actually work with these tools, not which logo you've used.
• Professional English, spoken and written. You'll be talking to Nordic colleagues every day.
• Proactive. We need people who pull work forward, not people who need to be pushed.
Nice to Have
• RabbitMQ or another message broker in production
• Experience mentoring engineers or raising the engineering bar in a team
• Industrial, manufacturing or IoT domain background
• You've actually welded something in your garage. Genuinely counts. 🔥
