Senior Java & Kotlin Developer (e-commerce)

A project implemented in the Language Intelligence domain, leveraging AI and NLP technologies for large-scale text analysis and processing to support key digital platform functionalities, such as search, content quality, and process automation.

Our expectations
• Proven track record as a Software Engineer delivering highly complex solutions - min. 5 years of experience
• Strong knowledge of Java and prior experience with Kotlin
• Foundational experience with and a strong interest in AI-based solutions, particularly LLM integration and agentic systems/frameworks
• Ability to lead the design and implementation of complex system features and components
• Strong ownership of delivered solutions, including code quality, stability, scalability, and observability (monitoring, logging)
• Experience in making architectural decisions and evaluating technical trade-offs
• Ability to identify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and technical debt
• Evaluating technical decisions through the lens of user impact, rather than solely fulfilling specifications
• Strong collaboration skills when working with Engineers, Product Managers, and UX/UI Designers
• High level of autonomy and accountability typical for contract roles
• English language skills: min. B2 level
Nice to have
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (GCP preferred) and Kubernetes
• Experience working with large-scale, distributed systems
• Experience in cross-team collaboration within complex organizational structures
• Providing technical consulting and knowledge sharing within the project team
• Advising on technical best practices and optimizing engineering standards across the project
Main responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, robust Kotlin-based features and distributed components, taking full ownership of code quality, observability, and technical debt management.
• Drive the technical implementation of cutting-edge AI capabilities by integrating LLMs, agentic frameworks, and smart automation into the core platform to directly enhance the end-user experience.
• Act as a true autonomous contributor within a team of specialists and collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and cloud engineers on GCP/Kubernetes while evaluating trade-offs, managing technical risks, and mentoring the team.
