Krakow-based opportunity with hybrid work model (up to 3 remote days per week).
As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial services leader dedicated to transforming banking through cutting-edge IT solutions. You’ll contribute to the modernization of legacy Java applications, supporting high-impact financial transactions and regulatory reporting platforms. This role offers you the chance to be part of a dynamic team driving digital innovation and operational excellence.
Your main responsibilities:
• Actively participate in incident, problem, and service management activities, ensuring continuous service delivery.
• Evergreen legacy Java applications leveraging Github Co-Pilot, Claude Code, and other modern tools.
• Collaborate closely with business product owners, IT specialists, architects, and management to analyze and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Design and develop robust microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot within an Agile environment.
• Create observability solutions for monitoring, alerting, incident response, and capacity management, ensuring high system reliability.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
• 5+ years of experience in developing and supporting distributed Java systems.
• Strong expertise in designing microservices with Java 17 and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Java frameworks, DevOps tools, and application lifecycle management (e.g., JIRA/Confluence, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines).
• Proficient in REST APIs, Spring Cloud, GCP, Redis, and related technologies.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of working across regions with a global perspective.
It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)• Knowledge of Angular, vulnerability remediation, or related cloud technologies.
Language required for the role:
• Fluent English, with strong communication skills.
