Software Engineer As a Software Engineer reporting to Patrik Bengters, you’ll play a critical role in building, delivering, and maintaining Index & Analytics products and services for Nasdaq’s global customers. Index & Analytics Engineering operates like a small company within Nasdaq, owning the full development lifecycle - from pre-sales and customer requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, training, and ongoing 24/7 support. Key Responsibilities - Craft and develop new sophisticated functionality while maintaining and improving the existing codebase. - Contribute across the full product lifecycle, including business needs, design, implementation, quality assurance, and deployment. - Design and build core parts of the backend system, primarily using Java. - Collaborate with our European team, building and maintaining our Index systems. - Support highly available, low-latency distributed systems used by global customers. What It’s Like Working Here Our systems are high-performance, low-latency, and highly redundant, with a strong backend focus in Java. Deployments are a mix of AWS and on‑prem, and we use the tools and technologies best suited for the job, including Java, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, and Kubernetes. This position will be located in Vilnius and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates. You will be joining our existing team of 5 people in Vilnius, working closely with teams in Stockholm and the UK.
