Tech Lead Backend Engineering

Nasze wymagania: You bring extensive experience as a backend engineer with a leadership component, combining hands-on technical expertise with the ability to guide teams and stakeholders. You have proven experience with Go, distributed systems, and SQL databases, along with strong system design and architecture skills. You understand how to translate complex business requirements — especially in the card and payments domain — into scalable technical solutions. You bring deep knowledge of fintech systems, including card networks, transaction lifecycles, and regulatory standards such as PCI-DSS. You think strategically about architecture and product development, with a focus on building modern, scalable financial services within the embedded finance space. You work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, acting as a key point of alignment between product and engineering. You lead by example, maintaining a strong technical presence while supporting and empowering your team. You promote and leverage AI tools to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and development workflows. You take ownership in a DevOps-oriented environment, ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and production-ready. You communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken, and collaborate in an international environment. For one of our partners — a Swiss-based company operating in the fintech sector — we are currently looking for a Tech Lead Backend Engineering. This role offers the opportunity to work in an ambitious, fast-growing, and international engineering environment, where you will define the technical direction of backend systems, lead architectural decisions, and drive the development of scalable card and payment solutions. You will collaborate closely with backend engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to contribute to and shape a next-generation fintech platform and its core financial products within the embedded finance space. Zakres obowiązków: You define and drive the technical roadmap for backend systems, aligning engineering initiatives with product goals and business strategy. You design and oversee scalable and distributed backend architectures, ensuring long-term system health, performance, and maintainability. You act as a bridge between business and engineering, translating complex requirements into clear and actionable technical solutions. You are responsible for the architecture and evolution of card and payment systems, including card lifecycle management, real-time transaction processing, clearing and settlement, and ensuring the integrity of financial flows and ledger systems. You ensure seamless and secure integrations of APIs and external partners, enabling high-scale B2B and platform-based solutions. You advise on the evolution of the tech stack and make key architectural decisions, including vendor and third-party integrations (e.g., payment processors, KYC providers). You support and mentor team members, enabling autonomy, fostering engineering excellence, and helping the team deliver efficiently and without friction. You work closely with backend engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to solve complex technical and business challenges. You ensure end-to-end ownership of services, from initial architecture through delivery, production stability, and continuous improvement.
