This project involves building and optimizing modern storage layers (Data Lake / DWH) within the Google Cloud environment, capable of handling ingestion from hundreds of simultaneous sources. Your goal is to design robust data models, implement strict data quality standards (Data Contracts), and automate the infrastructure through IaC. This is an ideal role for an expert who can seamlessly bridge the gap between legacy on-prem systems (Oracle) and advanced cloud analytics in GCP. Details • Location: Remote  (Hybrid options available). • Seniority: Expert (4–5+ years of experience as a Data Architect). • Core Stack: GCP, BigQuery, Data Fusion, Datastream. • Industry: Enterprise / Large-Scale Data Systems. • Focus: Cloud Migration, Data Modeling, and System Stability. Responsibilities • Strategic Design: Developing and executing growth strategies for Business Intelligence systems, Data Warehouses, and Data Lakes. • Pipeline Optimization: Designing and tuning ingestion processes (ETL/ELT) using Data Fusion and Datastream. • Governance & Quality: Defining Data Contracts and implementing comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and data quality assurance mechanisms. • Infrastructure as Code: Eliminating manual environment changes by fully automating infrastructure deployment using Terraform. • Collaboration: Working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and development teams to deliver high-value analytical insights. Requirements • Architectural Background: Minimum 4–5 years of experience in designing data layers and sophisticated data modeling (DWH/Data Lake). • GCP Mastery: Deep knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, with a specific focus on BigQuery. • Big Data & Legacy Systems: Familiarity with Hive, Spark, and traditional warehouse environments (e.g., Oracle). • SQL/PL-SQL Expert: Advanced query optimization, indexing, and complex aggregations. • DevOps for Data: Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Cloud Build). Nice to Have • Experience with modern transformation tools like dbt or Dataform. • Knowledge of data governance solutions: Dataplex, Data Catalog. • The ability to independently script entire cloud infrastructures using Terraform.
