Data Engineer – databricks
On behalf of our client, a dynamic company from the media industry, we are looking for a proactive and self-driven Data Engineer specializing in Databricks.
In this role, you will join a team responsible for a key data platform modernization project. The main goal is to migrate the current data infrastructure and processing workloads from Azure Synapse to a modern Lakehouse architecture based on Databricks. The newly designed platform will serve as the foundation for reporting, advanced analytics, and future AI-driven solutions. We are looking for a technical specialist who can quickly onboard and independently execute migration tasks during this crucial phase of the project.
Responsibilities:
• Supporting the migration of data, ETL/ELT processes, and reporting workloads to Databricks
• Participating in the migration of core data domains and database schemas
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers within the Lakehouse architecture
• Supporting data testing, validation, and reconciliation activities to ensure data integrity
• Contributing to the improvement of scalability, reliability, and data governance across the platform
• Collaborating closely with Architects, Analytics Engineers, and business stakeholders to achieve migration milestones
Requirements:
• Hands-on experience with the Databricks platform
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Practical experience with PySpark and dbt
• Background working with Azure Synapse, SQL Server, Azure Data Warehouse, or similar data platforms
• Proven experience in building and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience in data modeling, transformation, and data quality validation/testing
• Understanding of data governance, data monitoring, and performance optimization concepts
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD practices
• English language skills at a minimum B2+ level (allowing for smooth professional communication)
• Previous experience in data migration projects will be considered a strong asset
Offer details:
• Hourly rate: 110–140 PLN/h
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract duration: 3 months with a strong possibility of long-term extension
