Lead Data Engineer (Azure)

Our Client is a global technology organization specializing in data & cloud solutions, delivering projects for international partners. The project focuses on designing and developing modern cloud-based data platforms, with a strong emphasis on scalability, data quality, and processing efficiency. We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer who will take technical ownership of the data engineering domain and support the team through expertise and mentorship. WORK MODE: 100% remoteWHAT WILL YOU DO? • Lead the data engineering team from a technical perspective, including mentoring, supporting problem-solving, and fostering team growth • Design and oversee the architecture of cloud-based data solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business needs • Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Support the team in building data pipelines, optimizing processes, and implementing best practices (CI/CD, QA, coding standards) • Coordinate project work, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery of tasks • Participate in code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and ensure compliance with security standards WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU? • 6+ years of experience in data engineering • Strong proficiency in Python (programming language) and hands-on experience with Azure (Microsoft Azure cloud platform) • Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions • Solid knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) • Ability to act as a technical leader (also in an informal capacity) – mentoring, ownership, team support • Experience working in project environments and direct client communication Nice to have: • Experience with Databricks (cloud data processing platform) • Knowledge of Scala (programming language) • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices in data engineering • Cloud or data engineering certifications • Degree in Computer Science or a related field WHY IS IT WORTH JOINING? • Work in an international environment with top-tier data & cloud experts • Real impact on architecture and project direction (high level of autonomy and ownership) • Strong focus on growth – access to learning platforms, certifications, and upskilling programs • Collaborative, inclusive culture built on knowledge sharing and diversity Thank you for all applications! We will contact selected candidates.
