Senior Azure Data Engineer with Databricks

We are looking for an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to join a long-term, fully remote project for one of the world’s best Emirates airlines. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and distributed systems in the Azure ecosystem, working closely with analysts and data scientists to deliver high-quality data solutions for a globally recognized aviation leader. 🔧 Responsibilities • Designing, building, and deploying at-scale infrastructure with a focus on distributed systems • Building and maintaining architecture patterns for data processing, workflow definitions, and system-to-system integrations using Big Data and Cloud technologies • Translating technical designs into robust, maintainable code and technical specifications aligned with industry standards • Driving the creation of reusable data and infrastructure artifacts • Establishing scalable, efficient, and automated processes for data analysis, data modeling, validation, and implementation • Collaborating closely with analysts and data scientists to understand downstream data model impacts • Writing efficient, well-structured code in an iterative, continuous delivery environment • Promoting and contributing to good software engineering practices across the team • Communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Defining and maintaining data retention policies • Monitoring system performance and recommending necessary infrastructure improvements 🗓 Project Details • Start date: 02 February 2026 • Project type: Long-term • Work mode: 100% Remote 🛠 Technical Requirements (Must Have) • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Backend / Fullstack Software Development • Strong SQL skills • Proficiency in Python scripting • Experience with Databricks, Spark, and large-scale data transformations • Experience in data modeling for both relational and non-relational databases • Experience with CI/CD pipelines • Working knowledge of Git ➕ Nice to Have • Experience with Azure Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, and Spark Streaming • Experience with Apache Airflow • Experience in the Aviation Industry • Familiarity with Copilot 🤝 Language Skills & Availability • Availability to work between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CET • Very good written and spoken English communication skills
