Senior Data Engineer

Data Engineer (Azure / Databricks) Location: Poland (primarily remote) Office: Wrocław Rate: 170–190 PLN / hour (B2B) About the Role We are looking for a passionate and skilled Data Engineer to join a stable and long‑term project team within the Data & AI area of a global automotive leader. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize modern data pipelines and contribute to scalable, production‑grade data products supporting Sales. This is a hands‑on and highly collaborative position, ideal for someone who enjoys transforming complex data challenges into reliable solutions. Working Model • Primarily remote work (One visit in office per 8-10 weeks in Wrocław) Key Responsibilities This role combines two major streams of work: • Maintenance and support of existing critical data solutions built on Synapse / IICS • Strategic redesign and migration of these solutions to a modern Databricks‑based architecture You will also: • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Python, and Spark • Implement and maintain data solutions across the Azure Data Platform • Build and maintain APIs for data ingestion, sharing, and interoperability • Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance • Integrate data pipelines into wider business processes and cross‑functional systems • Continuously improve performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency of data environments Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong knowledge of the IICS stack • Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, Python, and Spark • Solid experience with Azure Data Services (Data Lake, ADF) • Experience with ingestion tools such as Qlik Replicate, MQ, MQCC • Experience with API development (REST / JSON) • Solid understanding of ETL, data modeling, and data architecture principles • Knowledge of CI/CD and version control (Git) • Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to work in an agile model • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder collaboration abilities Nice to Have • Experience with big data and Spark performance tuning • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and security practices • Exposure to Power BI or similar BI tools Benefits • Private healthcare package • Sports card program • Access to professional learning & development platforms • Long‑term cooperation with a global organization • Work with modern cloud & data technologies in a mature environment
