Senior Data Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen the Client's team working for one of the EU institutions. Focus: Technical data governance, database engineering, data lineage, Azure SQL Location: Mostly offsite + mandatory onsite presence in Luxembourg (5 consecutive days onsite for onboarding then ~5 consecutive onsite days per quarter throughout the assignment) Language: English (mandatory) Date: from 01/05/2026 to 30/06/2028 (+possible extension +12 months) Requirements: • At least 10 years of experience • Senior Database Engineer experience in enterprise environments • Technical data governance experience (standards, controls, traceability – not just “data management”) • Handson collaboration with Data Owners / Data Stewards • Investigation of data lineage and dataquality issues in distributed systems • Review and alignment of service/API data contracts with database models • Strong SQL (complex structures, transformations, integrity reasoning) • Data modelling (conceptual + physical) and mapping models to services • Azure SQL handson experience: Azure SQL Database and/or Managed Instance ; Performance tuning ; Security ; Production operations • CI/CD database change automation (e.g. Liquibase – tooling must be named) • Experience with catalogue and/or lineage tools • Proven ability to produce clear technical documentation  Technical Stack • MS SQL • Sybase • Oracle • Azure SQL (Database and/or Managed Instance) Offer: • B2B contract • Rate: 320 EUR net/MD
