Senior Databricks Data & Platform Engineer

About the project
We are looking for an experienced Databricks Data & Platform Engineer to support a strategic data transformation initiative within oncology and clinical research. You will be responsible for building and scaling a modern Databricks Lakehouse platform, migrating existing reporting and data processing solutions, and implementing best practices in data engineering, governance, and CI/CD. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help deliver a scalable analytics platform that supports research programs and enables evidence-based decision-making.
Workmode: 100% remote

Tasks
• Build and configure Databricks environments across development, test, and production.
• Design and implement scalable Lakehouse architecture, data models, and governance standards using Unity Catalog.
• Develop and migrate data pipelines using SQL and PySpark from multiple source systems.
• Implement CI/CD processes, automated testing, monitoring, and deployment best practices.
• Support Power BI integration, optimize performance, and ensure reporting consistency after migration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders.
Expectations
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including 3+ years of hands-on Databricks experience.
• Proven experience building Databricks platforms and production-grade data pipelines from scratch.
• Strong expertise in Databricks, Unity Catalog, SQL, Python/PySpark, Git, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms, ETL/ELT processes, data architecture, and governance.
• Good understanding of Power BI, including semantic models and data transformations.
• Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and security requirements.
• English proficiency at C1 level
• Databricks certifications (Data Engineer Professional and/or Platform Architect).
• Experience with dbt, Fivetran, or similar modern data stack tools.
• Experience migrating reporting solutions to a Lakehouse architecture.
