Senior Lead Data Engineer

For our client operating in the financial services industry, we are looking for a Senior Lead Data Engineer to work on enhancing data engineering capabilities within a team primarily composed of BI developers. The role involves taking ownership of the data engineering area, identifying gaps and risks, and proactively suggesting improvements. 
  

Work Mode: Hybrid – 2 days in the Warsaw office   
Job Responsibilities 
• Take technical ownership of the data engineering area 
• Build and improve data pipelines, transformations, and data models 
• Identify technical gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities 
• Troubleshoot issues end to end, from source systems to reporting 
• Provide technical guidance to BI developers and team members 
• Collaborate with Power BI developers, architects, and stakeholders 
  
Expectations
• Strong data engineering experience, including SQL and data modelling 
• Hands-on experience with Python or similar languages 
• Experience with Azure data services, ADF, and/or Airflow 
• Good understanding of Power BI and reporting environments 
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills 
• Ability to work independently and take ownership 
• Proactive mindset, technical leadership, and strong communication skills
