O projekcie:
Senior SQL Server DBA
Our partner is a global technology distribution company establishing a new international engineering organization in Budapest. We are looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA to build, stabilize and improve business-critical database environments.
The position is ideal for a hands-on specialist who has experience setting up new database environments and brings strong expertise in ETL processes and data integrations. Production reliability remains the primary focus of the role.
Location: Budapest, district 5

Wymagania:
- At least 5 years of experience
in a production-focused DBA or Database Engineer role
- Strong hands-on Microsoft SQL
Server expertise
- Experience building or
launching new database environments
- Strong practical knowledge of
ETL/ELT processes
- Advanced SQL Server performance
tuning and query optimization skills
- Experience with backup,
restore, recovery testing and disaster recovery
- Understanding of high
availability, data integrity, security and permission management
- Experience supporting
production incidents and database releases
- Strong analytical and
troubleshooting skills
- Fluent English and confident
communication in an international environment
An
advantage would be
- Experience with AlwaysOn,
replication, log shipping or clustering
- Knowledge of SSIS, Azure Data
Factory, Airflow or dbt
- Experience with Azure SQL,
Azure Managed Instance or AWS RDS
- Familiarity with database
monitoring tools and additional database technologies
- Experience improving database
operations, processes and documentation
Codzienne zadania:
- Build and introduce new SQL Server databases and environments
- Support production, testing and development database systems
- Ensure database availability, performance and recoverability
- Maintain and test backup, restore and disaster recovery processes
- Support AlwaysOn Availability Groups, replication and failover solutions
- Monitor database health, storage, jobs, backups and system performance
- Resolve slow queries, execution plan issues, blocking, deadlocks and indexing problems
- Review schemas, stored procedures, migrations and deployment scripts
- Validate database changes, rollback plans and production readiness
- Support ETL/ELT workflows, reporting feeds and data integrations
- Investigate production incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Improve monitoring, documentation and operational processes
- Cooperate with Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, Security and QA teams
