DevOps (AWS, GCP) 0.5 FTE, 100 % remote

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join a team supporting the maintenance and development of several custom web-based applications used within a global pharmaceutical and research environment. These solutions support scientists throughout the drug development lifecycle, covering areas such as bioassay workflows, molecular structure analysis, and advanced process analytics. The role involves close collaboration with international teams and stakeholders across Europe and North America, contributing to the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-based platforms.

This is a 0.5 FTE position

Work model: 100% remote 

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS and GCP environments
• Build, optimize, and manage CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Administer and support Kubernetes-based environments
• Collaborate closely with software development teams to improve deployment processes and operational efficiency
• Monitor infrastructure and applications using logging, monitoring, and alerting tools
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues
• Drive automation initiatives and promote DevOps best practices across the team
• Work effectively with international stakeholders and distributed teams
Requirements

• Strong experience with AWS and GCP cloud platforms
• Hands-on experience with GitHub and version control best practices
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform (IaC)
• At least 4 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or a related area
• Experience with Docker and containerization concepts
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Experience with cloud-native technologies, including EKS and Helm
• Experience with ArgoCD
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, Agile practices, and security fundamentals
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience working closely with software development teams
• Excellent communication skills and English proficiency at C1 level or higher
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Nice to have: knowledge of Terragrunt, Helm and/or Kustomize, programming experience in Python, familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC) environments, and an interest in knowledge sharing and mentoring activities
