DevOps Engineer (Must have: Chef)

🚀 We are looking for a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer (Chef) to join a newly launched banking infrastructure program delivered in an international environment. 🎯 This role focuses on building and maintaining AWS-based infrastructure (Windows & Linux EC2), deploying complex vendor applications, and supporting Kubernetes-based microservices integrated with multiple external systems and databases. 🎯 A key aspect of this role is expert-level automation using Chef (Ruby). Chef is a core technology in this project and plays a critical role in application deployment, configuration management, and environment consistency across multiple stages. ❗Please don't apply if you don't have hands-on experience with Chef❗ ⭐ Requirements: • Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux EC2 environments on AWS • Expert-level Chef (Ruby) skills – strong experience in cookbook development and automation of complex deployments (this is a critical requirement for the role) • Proficiency with Terraform/Terragrunt and Infrastructure as Code principles • Experience with Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, and GitOps (ArgoCD) • Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, VPC, networking fundamentals) • Scripting and troubleshooting skills in PowerShell and/or Python • Proven experience managing complex integrations and multi-component deployments • Fluent English ⭐ Responsibilities: • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure (Windows & Linux EC2) using Terraform/Terragrunt • Develop and maintain Chef cookbooks (Ruby) for automated deployment of vendor software and dependencies • Automate configuration and deployment across multi-environment setups (DEV / TEST / PROD) • Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS) using Helm and GitOps (ArgoCD) • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI • Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across heterogeneous environments • Design and implement monitoring and logging solutions for complex multi-component systems • Collaborate closely with cloud and application teams and promote DevOps best practices ⭐ We offer: • Participation in a strategic banking infrastructure program • International collaboration (Poland & Baltic States) • Real influence on automation standards and infrastructure architecture • Modern tech stack: AWS, EKS, Terraform, GitOps, GitLab CI • High level of autonomy and ownership Go ahead and apply! 🚀
