What You’ll Do: Leadership & Team Management • Lead, support, and grow engineering teams, with a strong focus on people development, motivation, and sustainable delivery • Build a culture of ownership, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement • Conduct regular 1:1s, provide honest feedback, support career growth, and address performance issues when needed • Ensure healthy team dynamics and effective collaboration Delivery & Execution • Own delivery across teams, ensuring clear priorities, realistic planning, and predictable outcomes • Manage and continuously refine prioritisation across infrastructure, operational, and enablement initiatives • Ensure risks, technical debt, and delivery issues are surfaced early and managed proactively • Use data (e.g. DORA metrics, operational signals, delivery predictability) to guide decisions and improvements Technical & Strategic Alignment • Partner closely with senior engineers and Tech Leads to:• support platform modernisation and cloud migration initiatives • evolve shared infrastructure, CI/CD, and operational tooling • establish and promote architectural standards and best practices • Act as a bridge between strategic technical direction and day-to-day execution • Ensure platform work is aligned with business goals and delivers clear value to development teams • Collaborate and negotiate with external vendors and technology partners • Own and manage the technology budget Who You Are: • You have proven experience as a Platform Engineering Manager, IT Operations Manager, or similar, leading delivery-focused engineering teams, min. 4+ years • You have experience managing infrastructure powering large-scale online services, ideally global systems • You bring a strong people leadership style, combined with pragmatic execution • You’re comfortable managing teams working on complex, long-lived technical systems, • You can collaborate effectively with senior engineers and technical leaders • You understand modern engineering practices, DevOps/SRE principles, and platform engineering concepts • You communicate clearly across levels - from hands-on engineers to senior leadership • Nice to have experience with cloud and hybrid (cloud & on-prem) infrastructure, and migration to cloud • Nice to have experience with Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Varnish (or similar technologies)
