Expert (Staff) Backend Engineer – Python | Cloud Security

We are looking for a highly experienced Expert (Staff) Backend Engineer to join our Cloud Security R&D team and help build the next generation of our client’s cloud security platform. This is a senior, high-impact technical role for someone who thrives on solving complex distributed systems challenges at scale. You will play a key role in designing and evolving secure, resilient, and high-performance SaaS services running primarily on AWS, with integrations across Azure and GCP.  Responsibilities: • Design and build large-scale, distributed, cloud-native backend systems. • Drive architectural decisions and contribute to long-term technical strategy. • Lead complex engineering initiatives spanning multiple teams. • Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance microservices and APIs. • Promote engineering excellence, code quality, and best practices. • Mentor developers and support their technical growth. • Collaborate closely with product, architecture, and R&D teams. • Contribute across the full development lifecycle: design, implementation, CI/CD, and production operations.   Requirements:   • 8+ years of hands-on experience developing and designing large-scale, distributed, cloud-based systems. • Strong experience with:• AWS and cloud-native architectures • Microservices and event-driven design • Containers and serverless patterns • Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python is a strong advantage). • Excellent system design and analytical skills. • Proven experience leading complex cross-team engineering initiatives. • Strong knowledge of: • Data systems • Relational databases and SQL • Messaging/streaming technologies • High-throughput data pipelines • Solid experience with CI/CD (Jenkins preferred), DevOps practices, automated testing, and production operations. • Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience. • Proactive, highly motivated, and goal-oriented mindset. • Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and problem-solving skills.   Nice to have:   • Experience in cloud security domains. • Familiarity with Azure and/or GCP. • Experience influencing architecture in large SaaS environments. • Observability and reliability engineering experience.
