emagine is seeking a Lead AWS Engineer with deep expertise in Global Edge Infrastructure to strengthen a public-facing platform serving millions of users worldwide. Start: ASAP or within 1 monthDuration: 12 monrthsLocation: Stockholm, 2–3 days onsite/week What we’re looking for A seasoned Software Engineer who has run or built a global, high‑traffic webstore and understands what it takes to operate a platform used across 5 continents. You should have: • Strong frontend awareness (JavaScript, React) — essential for understanding modern web delivery. • Experience building resilient, peak‑proof systems that survive Black Friday-level traffic. • A passion for security and real experience defending against sophisticated attacks. This is a deep specialist role focused on global edge delivery, performance, and protection — not a general backend or observability position. Core Responsibilities • Design, operate, and optimize global edge architecture on AWS. • Own high-traffic CloudFront distributions (performance tuning, caching, routing). • Build and manage AWS WAF rules for threat detection and mitigation. • Develop infrastructure with AWS CDK (TypeScript). • Ensure resilience, scalability, and low latency during extreme traffic peaks. • Implement defenses against large-scale attacks (DDoS, abusive patterns). • Standardize and automate global public infrastructure. • Collaborate with engineering teams on secure, high-performing web delivery. Must-Have Expertise • End-to-end ownership of large-scale, global, internet-facing systems. • Experience running platforms with millions of users and strict uptime SLAs. • CloudFront expert-level experience. • AWS WAF expert-level experience. • Strong engineering skills with AWS CDK + TypeScript. • Proven handling of major traffic events and real production incidents. Highly Valuable • Experience with commercial/consumer high-volume platforms. • Advanced caching, edge performance optimization, origin shielding. • Security engineering at the CDN/edge layer. • Automation and standardization of public infrastructure at scale.
