Platform Engineer / DevOps (Event-Driven & n8n) Remote | Long-term project | Biopharmaceutical industry About the role We are recruiting for a global biopharmaceutical company specializing in innovative medicines, vaccines, and specialty therapies. The organization operates internationally and focuses on improving patient outcomes across areas such as infectious diseases, immunology, oncology, and respiratory care. We are building a modern event-driven platform based on n8n workflows, focused on scalability, observability, and experimentation at scale. What you will work on You will help design and evolve a platform that enables: • End-to-end traceability of events across distributed workflows (n8n-based) • Experimentation at scale (A/B testing, canary releases, progressive delivery) • Reliable execution of multiple workflows in parallel • High observability across complex, cloud-native systems Your responsibilities • Build and support an event-driven platform based on n8n workflows • Design and maintain scalable workflow orchestration solutions • Generate and publish SDKs from Avro schemas across multiple languages • Implement resilience patterns (retries, circuit breakers, flow control) • Build distributed tracing using OpenTelemetry (OTel) • Improve observability across multiple environments • Support canary deployments, A/B testing, and rollout strategies • Maintain and evolve a scalable, production-grade platform • Work closely with engineering teams to improve reliability and performance Tech stack & environment • Event-driven architecture (core focus) • n8n workflow automation • OpenTelemetry (OTel) • Avro / schema registry / SDK generation • Kubernetes / containerized environments • Google Cloud Platform (Pub/Sub) • DevOps tooling for CI/CD and deployments • Observability & monitoring systems Must have • Strong experience in Platform Engineering or DevOps in event-driven systems • Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration (ideally n8n) • Experience with distributed systems at scale • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and observability practices • Experience with resilience patterns (retries, circuit breakers, flow control) • Experience supporting production platform environments • Understanding of large-scale event-driven architectures (not only CI/CD pipelines) • Experience with GCP (especially Pub/Sub) • Experience with schema-based systems (e.g. Avro, schema registry) Nice to have • Experience with canary deployments and A/B testing systems • Experience with SDK generation pipelines • Strong background in platform engineering mindset • Experience working in complex, cloud-native enterprise environments
