As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will drive cloud architecture standards, enable engineering teams, and help shape a secure, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud platform. You'll work closely with Engineering, Security, and Product teams, acting as a trusted advisor and technical leader across the organization.
Main Responsibilities:
•
Technical Leadership & Cloud Strategy
• Define and evolve cloud architecture blueprints, ensuring consistency across teams and projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering leadership to align the infrastructure roadmap with business priorities.
• Lead design reviews, influence architectural decisions, and evaluate trade-offs between cost, reliability, and performance.
• Research and evaluate emerging cloud technologies, proposing adoption strategies aligned with long-term goals.
•
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
• Set standards for Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep) and GitOps workflows.
• Promote automated, reusable, and scalable infrastructure patterns to minimize manual operations.
• Support the development of reusable IaC modules and cloud provisioning templates.
•
Platform Reliability & Observability
• Establish and reinforce SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for critical services.
• Define observability standards covering monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Lead initiatives focused on automation, self-healing systems, and reducing operational toil.
•
Security & Compliance
• Embed a security-by-design mindset into infrastructure patterns using IAM, network segmentation, and encryption best practices.
• Partner with InfoSec to ensure adherence to security frameworks and audit requirements.
•
Cost Optimization & Performance
• Apply FinOps principles to continuously monitor, optimize, and forecast cloud spend.
• Drive initiatives on right-sizing, reserved capacity usage, and cost-efficient architectural design.
•
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
• Coach Cloud and DevOps engineers, encouraging technical excellence and autonomy.
• Lead internal workshops, technical sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across engineering teams.
Key Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's is a plus).
• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles.
• 2+ years in a senior, staff-level, or technical leadership position.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure (AWS/GCP experience is a plus).
• Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Hands-on proficiency with IaC tools: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, etc.
• Solid understanding of observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Splunk…
• Networking knowledge (VNet/Subnet, routing, DNS, peering) is a strong differentiator.
• Experience designing HA/DR solutions for mission-critical workloads.
• Strong security mindset integrated into infrastructure and DevOps workflows.
• Proven experience implementing scalable CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Nice to Have:
• Programming skills in Python, Go, or .NET.
• Experience with FinOps practices and frameworks.
• Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC2, or similar compliance standards.
• Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Principal Engineer in a SaaS or scale-up environment.
• Relevant Azure certifications (AZ-305, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
Who You Are:
• An excellent communicator who collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A proactive problem-solver with strong analytical thinking.
• A champion of continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
• Someone who demonstrates ownership, initiative, and technical curiosity.
• Fluent in English (Portuguese is a plus).
