Senior Platform Engineer – Microservices & DevOps

As a Senior Platform Engineer – Microservices & DevOps, you will be working for our client, a leader in cutting-edge technology solutions committed to transforming the digital landscape. Your main responsibilities: • Partner with Product Owners to understand requirements and break them down into focused, deliverable tasks. • Design and develop resilient, scalable microservices with strong observability and supportability, adhering to DevOps and Agile principles. • Manage your deliverables from concept through deployment, ensuring timely delivery. • Provide rapid, effective production support; analyze root causes of incidents and implement durable solutions. • Act as a trusted advisor to platform users, resolving queries efficiently and unblocking teams. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams and coordinate stakeholder activities to ensure continuous platform evolution. • Proactively address technical debt, maintaining high security standards and vulnerability management. • Mentor junior developers, share knowledge openly, and foster a high-performance team culture. You're ideal for this role if you have: • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE. • Deep understanding of internet technologies, including DNS, TLS, load balancing, reverse proxies, service meshes, and API gateways within microservices architectures. • Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Clojure. • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and InfluxDB. • A proactive approach to identifying problems and performance bottlenecks. • Proven ability to manage critical production incidents under pressure. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working with distributed teams. • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and foster team knowledge sharing. It is a strong plus if you have: • Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals. • Experience with virtualization platforms like KVM or VMware. • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
