Staff / Lead Backend Engineer (Node.js / NestJS/ (AI-first)

For the project that we are working on with our partner, we are looking for Staff / Lead Backend Engineer (Node.js / NestJS/  (AI-first).  Your duties will include:  • Designing backend architecture for a scalable product • Developing and maintaining backend services in Node.js / NestJS • Leading technical and architectural decisions • Building event-driven systems and queue-based processing • Ensuring security, observability, and high code quality • Supporting AI/LLM integrations on the backend side • Using AI/agentic coding tools in day-to-day development work Requirements that must be met: • 7+ years of production backend experience, • Strong production experience with Node.js / TypeScript and NestJS, • PostgreSQL: query plans, indexes, transactions, raw SQL when needed, not only ORM, • Async/event-driven systems: queues, retries, idempotency, job processing, • Security: OAuth 2.0, RBAC/ABAC, OWASP, audit logs, secrets, permission boundaries, • Multitenancy / data isolation / RLS-style patterns, • Writing ADRs and leading architectural decisions, • Experience with agentic coding, combined with a very strong quality mindset. • Very good English and Polish Nice to have: • Experience building systems at real scale: high traffic, large user base, high availability, • OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, structured logging, dashboards, alerting, • Cloud experience (preferably GCP/GKE), • Stripe / payments, • Backend-level LLM integrations.
