We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Java/React) to join an international engineering team building innovative, business-critical applications. The role combines hands-on full-stack development with cloud-native engineering and modern XP (Extreme Programming) practices.
You will serve as a hands-on expert across the full engineering lifecycle, from technical discovery through to production deployment. The ideal candidate thrives on difficult technical problems, owns architectural decisions end-to-end, and improves the technical standard of the teams they work with.
Requirements
• 8+ years of professional software development experience with large-scale systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Expert-level Java with Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud
• 4+ years of experience building front-end applications with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript
• Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and integration-oriented design
• Experience with distributed systems, API-first architecture, resilience patterns, and performance tuning
• Experience with test-driven and behaviour-driven development, plus automated testing with JUnit, Jasmine, Mockito, or similar tools
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins or equivalent tools, and deployment automation
• Experience with container-based environments such as Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry
• Experience designing and deploying cloud or hybrid cloud solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate technology options and communicate technical trade-offs to engineering and business stakeholders
• Good English communication skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with Kotlin, functional programming, and modern JVM ecosystem practices
• Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools
• Experience integrating AI or LLM capabilities into applications, workflows, or automation processes
• Experience with modern React state management and reactive UI patterns
Responsibilities
• Architect and design complex services, APIs, front-end features, and integration workflows
• Mentor developers through pair programming, code reviews, and design sessions
• Turn business requirements into robust, maintainable, and testable technical solutions
• Champion test-driven development, behaviour-driven development, continuous integration, and evolutionary design
• Leverage AI tools responsibly to speed up delivery, generate tests, support refactoring, and raise code quality
• Spot modernization opportunities and reduce technical debt across systems
• Improve system reliability, observability, performance, and deployment quality
• Promote clean code, automation, secure coding practices, and reusable component design
• Own the full engineering lifecycle from technical discovery through production readiness
• Evaluate technology options and communicate architectural trade-offs to engineering and business stakeholders
• Develop and maintain full-stack features across Java back-end services and React front-end applications
