The Role
Docplanner is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to own the Payments area. You will lead a team of 7–9 engineers, working closely with the Product Manager to keep the team efficient, focused, and AI-native, while remaining hands-on in the code.
Responsibilities
- Own performance management: set clear expectations, provide direct feedback, run reviews, and address underperformance.
- Level up engineers: build growth plans, coach through pairing and code reviews, and create stretch opportunities.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to decide on investment priorities, experiments, and pivots.
- Stay hands-on: work directly in the codebase, implementing features and architectural changes.
- Maintain AI-native practices and ensure high quality while keeping operational burden low.
- Track and communicate impact using metrics like delivery speed, quality, and product outcomes.
