Senior QA Engineer (Fully Remote)

Project
You will be involved in a financial project for a leading Nordic bank focused on credit assessment and decision processes, with a strong emphasis on automation-first quality assurance. The role includes designing, building, and maintaining automated tests, supporting release activities, and improving test coverage and reliability for API-based systems. You will collaborate closely with developers and business analysts to ensure quality is addressed early in delivery and consistently maintained.
 

Responsibilities you'll have
• Design, create, and maintain automated tests for API-based systems and regression testing scenarios
• Support release activities by preparing, executing, and following up on quality assurance tasks to ensure release readiness
•

Perform selective exploratory and release-focused manual testing where automation is not the most effective approach
• Manage and maintain test assets with proper traceability, documentation, and reporting in enterprise test management tools

•

Investigate failed test runs and identify whether issues are related to product defects, test defects, data issues, or environment instability

• Work closely with developers and business analysts to ensure quality is addressed early and throughout the delivery process
• Act as a senior QA voice within the project by promoting good testing practices, strengthening quality standards, and supporting an automation-first approach
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and participate in cross-project testing activities and ceremonies

Expected competences and knowledge
•

Solid senior-level QA experience (5+ years)  in automation-focused roles

• Hands-on experience with Robot Framework and Python for test automation and troubleshooting
• In-depth knowledge of API and system testing
• Proven ability to create and maintain automated test suites
•

Practical knowledge of working with test data, environment configuration, and execution across multiple environments

• Familiarity with enterprise test management tools, including test case management, traceability, and reporting
•

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing and release processes

• Exposure to AI-assisted tools and agent-based workflows in testing
• Strong collaboration skills and ownership of quality within the project
Nice to have:
• Familiarity with qTest as a test management tool
•

Experience gained in financial services or other regulated environments

• Exposure to Pega-based solutions or comparable enterprise platforms
• Experience working in BizDevOps environments

• Familiarity with Jenkins and similar tools used to support CI/CD-based delivery
