Test Automation Engineer (API)

For one of our clients, we are currently looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer who will take ownership of backend and API test automation and actively contribute to improving testing processes and quality standards. 📍 Working mode: Warsaw – once per 2 weeks in the office. Your daily responsibilities • Designing and implementing automated API tests (REST) • Preparing detailed test scenarios for backend services • Maintaining, refactoring, and updating API test suites • Analyzing test results, including functional, integration, and performance tests • Preparing, configuring, and maintaining test environments • Creating and updating test and technical documentation • Close collaboration with developers, analysts, and other QA engineers • Introducing improvements to testing and automation processes • Monitoring and reporting testing progress • Supporting and mentoring the team in the area of API testing and automation Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience in test automation (preferably backend / API-focused) • Very good knowledge of Java, including test framework creation and maintenance • Hands-on experience in REST API testing, preferably using Rest Assured • Good knowledge of SQL (querying, data validation) • Practical experience with Git • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI) • Experience working with Jira, TestFLO, and Confluence • Knowledge of build tools such as Maven or Gradle • Experience in creating integration tests Nice to have • Experience with performance testing scripts in Gatling (Java) • Basic knowledge of load, stress, and endurance testing • Understanding of microservices architecture • Experience with Postman, Swagger, and API mocking tools What we offer • Participation in a stable, long-term project • Real influence on API quality, automation standards, and testing processes • Collaboration with experienced engineering teams • Hybrid working model in Warsaw 📌 Please note that we will contact only selected candidates who meet the requirements outlined in the job advertisement.
