Summary: We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the BGI Data Privacy team in the role of DataVisa SME. The role holder will work as part of BGI, helping to deliver faster, simpler, and more efficient results, reduce time to market for business-sponsored programs, mitigate the risk of data breaches, and drive adherence to Global Data Management Policies, ultimately increasing customer trust and the value of customer data to the organization. Main Responsibilities • Guide business users across 67 markets and respective BGI in using DataVisa, ensuring cases are input accurately to meet controls. • Perform privacy assessments of operational processes, identifying and mitigating risks through effective tools, training, and guidance. • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure understanding and implementation of data privacy initiatives in ongoing programs. • Raise awareness of evolving data privacy laws and regulations relevant to client’s operations. • Act as a subject matter expert on global data privacy and protection laws, engaging with Legal and Regulatory Compliance teams. • Assist in developing, managing, and maintaining data standards, policies, and methodologies aligned with Group Data Privacy Policy. • Develop training and educational materials to enhance understanding of data privacy practices. • Identify areas for improving local practices in managing data privacy compliance. • Support the delivery of data privacy controls to ensure compliant data usage across the organization. • Stay updated with legislative requirements, conducting gap analyses to build remedial work programs and highlight risks. • Collaborate with stakeholders to plan future data privacy needs while adhering to the global scope. Key Requirements • Experience within an Organization’s Privacy Office or in collaboration with Data Privacy Officers. • In-depth knowledge of privacy law (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and quickly apply new concepts. • Aptitude for managing multiple stakeholders, understanding technology and commercial concepts. • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills. • Capacity to identify and mitigate data risks, understanding their materiality and prioritizing responses accordingly. • Strong communication skills to explain complex issues clearly across business and legal teams. • Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities. • Proven track record of ownership and comfort in working independently. • Fluency in verbal and written English.
