As a Senior Cryptography Controls Subject Matter Expert – Cybersecurity, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution committed to safeguarding assets and data across the world. In this pivotal role, you will help strengthen HSBC’s defenses against evolving cyber threats by implementing advanced cryptography controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating across teams to promote resilient cybersecurity practices. Your main responsibilities: • Lead the management and optimization of cryptography controls to ensure alignment with the bank’s risk and compliance frameworks. • Review and oversee control implementations, including documenting controls and continuously monitoring their effectiveness. • Engage with control owners and stakeholders across different organizational levels, including senior management, audit, and regulators. • Develop and manage performance reporting, including KPIs and effectiveness metrics, to track and improve control efficacy. • Ensure cryptography controls are compliant with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. • Foster cross-functional collaboration among control owners and cybersecurity teams to share knowledge and strengthen defenses. • Design and deliver training programs to raise awareness and understanding of cryptography control strategies. You're ideal for this role if you have: • At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on cryptography or related fields. • Proven knowledge of risk management, controls frameworks, and regulatory compliance within the cybersecurity domain. • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, audit, and business units. • Experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams. • Problem-solving skills to identify governance process challenges and implement effective solutions. It is a strong plus if you have: • Certifications related to cybersecurity, cryptography, or risk management. • Experience working within financial institutions or regulated industries. • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, NIST, or similar frameworks.
