We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer, who will lead security delivery across complex environments, ensuring proper implementation, documentation, and continuous validation of security controls, architectures, and configurations. *Remote work with mandatory monthly attendance at our client’s office in Berlin. These visits may become less frequent in the future. Responsibilities • Developing detailed security deployment plans covering all stages of implementation. • Identifying required resources, timelines, and dependencies for delivering security measures. • Installing and configuring security solutions according to defined standards and best practices. • Ensuring security controls are implemented consistently across the environment. • Creating and maintaining precise documentation of configurations, architectures, and decisions. • Updating documentation based on changes, improvements, or newly adopted standards. • Using documentation to track execution, identify issues, and support compliance readiness. • Ensuring full traceability of actions, decisions, and changes through detailed records. • Validating security processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals and evolving threats. • Identifying inefficiencies, discrepancies, or gaps and proposing corrective improvements. Requirements • Strong experience in designing secure network architectures (LAN/WAN, Zero Trust, segmentation / micro‑segmentation). • Hands‑on expertise with modern network security technologies, including firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Cisco), IDS/IPS, NAC, proxies, VPNs, load balancers, SD‑WAN, DDoS protection, SASE, SDN/ACI/NSX. • Ability to lead security assessments, policies, and security‑driven projects, providing technical guidance and best practices. • Strong understanding of DNS (architecture, operations, Infoblox, BIND, hybrid environments). • Experience with automation and scripting (Ansible, Python) and collaboration with cross‑functional technology teams. • Knowledge of security standards and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, SOC2). • Security‑by‑design mindset, ability to evaluate new technologies, assess risks, and propose improvements. • Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing secure network environments. • Fluent English (C1), spoken and written. Nice-to-have • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Miro. • Advanced Linux knowledge. • Experience in SIEM operations or threat hunting.
