Senior WAF Business Analyst – Web Application Security

As a Senior WAF Business Analyst – Web Application Security, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution committed to reinforcing digital resilience and web security. Your expertise will drive the implementation and maintenance of HSBC’s global Web Application Firewall strategy, ensuring the protection of mission-critical web applications against cyber threats. Your main responsibilities: • Resolve technical issues and maintain the WAF Target Operating Model and Capability framework • Act as the key contact for contractual WAF implementations and technical issue resolution • Lead and coordinate successful project deliveries by collaborating with vendor teams and CDN/WAF solution engineers • Manage planning, execution, and completion of WAF-related activities across cross-functional teams • Work closely with stakeholders to set expectations, manage scope and risks, and communicate project status to senior management • Oversee technical aspects of integration projects including configuration, debugging, testing, and go-live support • Coordinate with WAF vendor support during and post-implementation to resolve issues promptly • Accurately estimate timelines and identify technical risks with mitigation strategies • Review configurations with vendor professional services and ensure alignment with project goals • Collaborate with project teams to meet deliverables and manage release cycles You're ideal for this role if you have: • At least 8 years of experience in infrastructure and security technical roles • Strong understanding of web application security, WAF solutions, and content delivery networks • Knowledge of agile methodologies and software quality management • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively as part of a team • Capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently • Willingness to work occasionally over weekends It is a strong plus if you have: • Exposure to version control systems, build, and deployment tools • Hands-on experience with AWAF or other WAF solutions Language Required for the role : Fluent English – excellent communication skills required Eligibility for the role : Only candidates with an existing legal right to work in the European Union will be considered for this role. #MAKEYourCareerBETTER Interested?
