About us Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ About the role We're building and scaling a high-growth D2C product used by hundreds of thousands of customers globally, and we're now entering a phase where UX is a core growth lever. We're adding new capabilities, expanding the product, and focused on improving retention, activation, and funnel performance — and we need a UX leader who can drive that. We're looking for a UX Lead who is deeply technical, data-fluent, and design-strong. You'll own UX strategy, design quality, and the research practice — not as a support function, but as a core driver of product and business performance. Today, design is mostly engineered directly in the frontend, and UX research lacks structure and direction. You will change that. This is not a 9–5 role. It's a high-ownership, high-impact position for someone who wants to build systems, lead people, and directly influence growth metrics. What You'll Do UX Strategy & Growth Impact - Take full ownership of UX, design quality, and user journeys across the product. - Turn UX into a measurable growth lever — directly improving activation, retention, and conversion. - Work closely with Product and Growth to design and optimize funnels, onboarding, paywalls, and retention loops. - Audit and continuously improve the end-to-end user journey — from acquisition through long-term retention. Data & Analytics (Core Strength) - Analyze product analytics independently — Mixpanel funnels, cohort analysis, retention curves, drop-off patterns. - Connect UX decisions directly to business metrics — activation rate, retention curves, LTV, conversion. - Define hypotheses, experiments, and success metrics for every UX initiative. - Use session recordings (Clarity, FullStory, Hotjar), heatmaps, and behavioral data to identify friction points. - Proactively request and define new analytics instrumentation and reporting needs with the data team. - Validate UX changes through A/B testing (GrowthBook or similar) — hypothesis, implementation, result analysis. Design Leadership - Define, enforce, and evolve a clear, scalable design system (implemented directly in frontend, not Figma-first). - Lead and direct designers and frontend engineers involved in UI/UX work — set the definition of done. - Set the visual and interaction quality bar across the product. UX Research - Establish a structured research practice — define priorities, run interviews, surveys, and usability tests. - Translate raw research into prioritized, actionable product decisions. - Direct and level up the existing UX researcher on the team — provide structure, frameworks, and clear priorities. Life at Ruby Labs At Ruby Labs, we move fast, aim high, and expect the same from our team. We’re not here to play small—we’re here to build, grow, and win. That means we look for people who are ambitious, driven, and ready to give their best every single day. This is a place for individuals who thrive under pressure, embrace challenges, and see opportunity in every obstacle. If you’re hungry to achieve, motivated by impact, and want to grow at the speed of your own ambition, Ruby Labs offers the platform to make it happen. Here, effort is matched with reward. We recognize those who go all in and deliver results, and we create space for people who want more—more responsibility, more growth, and more success.
